What should be the room size for the classrooms ?
As per the norms, a classroom should have 01 Sq Mtr per student, maximum up to 40 students. A standard room has 500 sq ft approximately is good enough for the same.
Is it compulsory to have all the laboratories from the beginning ?
No, till the Secondary Level the compulsory requirement other than classrooms are Computer Lab, Maths Lab, Composite Science Lab only.

Is it necessary to form a society to start a school?
Yes, it is absolutely essential to form a Society/ Trust/ Sec 8 Company, before starting the school.
How is a Society formed?
Minimum seven people together can form a Society. When a name for the Society is agreed upon and this group draws a Memorandum of Association (MOA) they can register the Society. Along with the MOA the Bye Laws should also be submitted for registration. The society is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 by the Registrar of Societies.
What is the Memorandum of Association?
The Memorandum clearly defines the Aims and Objectives of the Society. The Memorandum also lists the names of the members, their addresses and other relevant details. The Memorandum also describes the first General Body when the society is registered.
Who can be members of the society? Are there a minimum and maximum number of members in a society?
Members, who accept the rules, may be enrolled on invitation. A certain amount as subscription may also be charged for the membership. There is no maximum limit to the number of members but the minimum number required is seven.

The Bye Laws of the society must include, among other things, the enrollment and removal of members, the process of the General Body Meeting, the election of the Executive members, etc.

What is a Trust Deed?
A Trust Deed is a registered document that describes everything about the Trust, and is usually in white paper, mostly A4. The registering authority is the Deputy Registrar or the Charity Commissioner. The deed can be prepared by a notary. Only a 100 Rupees stamp paper is required. All the trustees and witnesses will give their thumb impressions and signatures. The Trust cannot be revoked, unless it is mentioned in the Deed.
How many members minimum and maximum are required to form a Trust?
Two members are minimum for forming a Trust and there is no limit on the maximum members. But there is no limit for maximum numbers. All the members are called the Board of Trustees. All the members are life time members unless specified.

Yes. New schools may be registered as a Section 25 Company. Schools may also be registered as a Society or a Trust.
What is a Section 25 Company?
A group of individuals who wish to open school in India may form a Society or a Trust or form a Section 25 Company.
What is the procedure for starting a Section 25 Company?
To form a Section 25 company, firstly, an application is made in the INC 12 form. This attracts a fixed fee too. The next step in this process is to draw the memorandum of association in form no. INC 13.
The documents required to be submitted with the INC 13 form are:
- The memorandum of association
- The articles of the association
- A certificate from a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant or an Advocate, stating that the memorandum has provided for all the provisions in Section 25
- A projection of the income and expenditure for the following 3 years
- Sources of income and the different heads under which expenditure is expected
- Declaration by each member of the company.
A notice is published in the newspaper within a week from the date of application and a copy of the notice and the application is submitted to the Registrar.
